SSN: How did you discover Supernatural?
Jane: I caught a couple of episodes in repeats during the first year and a half, and while I thought it was good, I didn’t really get hooked until I purchased Seasons One and Two. The pilot episode was amazing. They had me at “Driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cakehole.” ;)
SSN: What is your favorite Supernatural episode and why?
Jane: AHBL 1 and 2. What has always drawn me to this show is the intensity of the love between these brothers. It’s something that many of us never get to experience in our own lives. To see Dean sacrifice his soul for Sam…it still makes me tear up. We also got the first real look at what an amazing actor Jensen is. His monologue at the bedside was Emmy-worthy. He just blew me away. That being said, the most recent episode (“Abandon All Hope”) simply astounded me with the quality of the writing, directing and acting. I can only imagine what else is in store down the road.
SSN: What is your least favorite Supernatural episode and why?
Jane: Oy…there are a few... “Route 666,” “Bugs,” “Red Sky at Morning”…shall I go on?
SSN: Who is your favorite villain?
Jane: Old Yellow Eyes. There wouldn’t be a show if he hadn’t started the whole thing off, right? He was pure evil, with a “devil may care” attitude. Love him!
SSN: How do you promote Supernatural?
Jane: I started out by purchasing several copies of Season One and lending them to all of my friends. Only one out of about 25 returned it and said it was too scary! I then bought copies of the other seasons as they came available, and soon I had about 50 new fans of the show to talk to. Facebook, MySpace and Twitter have also been great instruments to spread the word, not just about the show, but in support of all of the other wonderful actors and their projects. It has truly been a LOT of fun!
SSN: Do you prefer one of the boys over the other? If so, which one?
Jane: I’m a Jensen/Dean girl. Have been since Day 1. Sorry, Jared.
SSN: If you could be in ANY Supernatural episode, which would you choose and why?
Jane: “Mystery Spot”…I’m an ER doctor, and I figure I could have saved Dean from at least half of life-threatening situations he was in! ;)
SSN: What one character would you love to see back on Supernatural?
Jane: Oh, there are so many! Pamela Barnes, Mary Winchester, Ellen and Jo, and of course, John. I would love to see JDM again!
SSN: How do you want the show to end?
Jane: I would like to leave it open for a movie, so nothing in which the guys die. Kripke has kind of dug himself into a hole though, right? I mean, after Armageddon, what else is there to do? I guess we’ll have to wait and see what his evil genius mind can come up with next!
SSN: What other TV shows do you watch religiously?
Jane: ‘Bones’ is a favorite. I also love ‘Leverage,’ ‘Burn Notice,’ and ‘Saving Grace.’ They really are quality entertainment. Oh, and of course, ‘Top Chef’…never miss it!
